Primary Stimulating Activities For Alzheimer Patients

By Della Monroe

You know that we are going to be like fools if we think that life is long. Life is short. It is also what many people say. What ever you believe in, the answer is obvious. No one is truly ready for what life ahead has prepared for us. You are never an exemption. Perhaps, you have known some individuals who experience tragic conditions such as an Alzheimer.

Many endured the massive effects of this treacherous condition. It does harm to the cognitive process of the brain which is in charge of retaining important things in life such as memories and more. If you knew someone with this condition, knowing some stimulating activities for Alzheimer patients could help. Some are in the following.

Watch family videos. Doing this could help stir up their memory through tapping different emotions they felt at certain moments they see throughout the video. It causes their brain to function well. Although they needed some great reinforcements from someone they truly value, you have to reconsider helping them sincerely.

Create something crafted as an art. Do this to let them experience some dose of fun. It shall be important that you know that it is not only for the sake of making something creative, but it is an activity where you help your loved ones make their brain cells work. When the brain is at work, it would be easier for them to take bits from their memory. Little by little, at least they can recall.

Sing songs or play music. A fun engagement could allow them to access the breadths of their memory. Singing songs makes them feel according to the emotions emphasized in a song, especially the ones which are closely related with what experiences the patient has before his condition came into his system.

Cook or bake together. Cooking their favorite meal or the ones that their loved ones always wanted to have. For them to taste the food they had some attached memory with could help them exercise their ability to recall, making them able to reminisce whatever things they have to think about in connection to such.

Splurge into mind games such as puzzles. Make them have some fun. Play with them. It is your call to keep them entertained as the functionality of their brain is still in the process. Just keep helping them through this, never run out of patience. Be hopeful that someday their memories can come back.

Go and tend a botanical garden. Planting anything requires a lot of work. It incurs to the mind of the person to remember to follow up on taking care of their seeds. In this way, they would be able to take time to make their brains work in recalling specific things not only with the matters involving their dear plants, but with people they once loved as well.

Seeing this condition with your loved ones may be tragic, but you have to be strong to let them know everything is fine. Choose to remember their love over their disease. Be compassionate. They may not remember you, but they still can feel your love for them. Grab hold of hope. Never give up staying by their side. Keep loving. Never stop.
